Huskies vs. Huskies Preview

It has been a short season and Michigan Tech already find themselves in a extremely important weekend. They are playing host to the Huskies of St. Cloud State University. SCSU holds a 16-1-1 in the last 18 and have had a few wins over some top teams. MTU has not won since the first game of the year and last earned a point two weekends ago against UMD. MTU has steadily improved, but have not been able to break into the win column as of late.

MTU comes into the game riding on the shoulders of senior assistant captain Chris Conner. Conner is currently on a 4 game point streak. He finds himself tied for 5th in the nation with 7 goals. He is 3rd in the WCHA in goals and tied for 5th in points.

MTU is a young team and are looking for the underclassmen to step up and start producing. They have looked good at times, but no one on the offensive side have been consistent. Rob Nolan and Michael Teslak both have looked good at times in net, but Tech needs one of the two to emerge as the number one goalie.

MTU needs to show up and take points away from this weekend. I expect the team to come out and play from the drop of the puck on Friday and not let up until Sunday morning.
